Silverstone is planting trees for British F1 points.

With wildfires once again affecting parts of the UK and Europe this summer, climate change feels closer to home than ever. Silverstone’s latest sustainability initiative feels particularly timely. It’s not going to solve the climate crisis, but it’s a reminder that even small actions can make a difference.

Formula 1 has always measured success in points. Now, thanks to Silverstone, those points will leave a legacy after the chequered flag has fallen.

For every championship point scored by a British Formula 1 driver during the 2026 season, Silverstone will plant a native tree. Whether it’s Lando Norris, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Oliver Bearman or Arvid Lindblad, every point goes towards creating a new woodland around the home of British motorsport.

The drivers have already scored 496 points at the half way point of the season.

What I like about this initiative is its simplicity. One point. One tree.
