I completely agree with your purest opinion Lee. Can you tell me what the younger drivers think of the glitzy races. They seem to get carried away with the spectacle of the event. Do they appreciate the old school circuits as much?

I think they love the old tracks. They tend to be the ones that the junior categories go to so they have grown up racing on them.

Monza, chill in the air and leaves crunching underfoot. You bring life to the sport and makes me want to be part of it. Tonight in Amsterdam it’s dry and warm so can’t wait for Friday and the train ride to Zandvoort

Can you elaborate on the Vegas negativity? Read this a lot but the racing seems to have got better and the “glitz” of the location and sport you would think are a perfect complement.

I completely agree that it has got better but for me, it just feels too manufactured and whilst racing might have improved, there hasn’t been a standout race. Maybe I am too much of a purest but I feel that Vegas and Miami have too much focus on the showbiz. COTA is a brilliant track and one of the best weekends of the year.

I have my fingers crossed that Vegas delivers us a memorable race this year.

Jason, writing my Substack is not my full-time job. I do it for free and when I can. I always reply but I do it as and when time allows.
